Who we are
The ILGE (Integrated Laboratories for Geosciences and Environment) network, established as Work Package 3 in the framework of the MEET (Monitoring Earth’s Evolution and Tectonics) project, is a collaborative effort involving key Italian institutions dedicated to studying Solid Earth processes: the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the University “Roma Tre” (UniRomaTre), the National Research Council (CNR) and the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS)
ILGE comprises a total of 34 laboratories and 102 affiliated researchers and technicians, each contributing unique expertise to the network. These laboratories, distributed among our partner institutions, encompass various disciplines in the Earth Sciences, such as high-pressure high-temperature experimental volcanology and geophysics, experimental tectonics, paleomagnetism, geochemistry, optical and scanning electron microscopy, core logging and site effects investigation, among others.
In pursuit of advancing scientific knowledge, ILGE unites these institutions and their diverse laboratories, fostering collaboration and innovation to unravel the complexities of Earth's dynamic processes.
